Robert Piniewski, R.G., B.S.

Bob is a senior project manager at PNL, which he joined in May 2007. Bob’s primary role is representing PRP Groups at large complex remediation sites. He has been responsible for managing overall project strategy development and day to day oversight of RI/FS, RD/RA, OM&M activities.

Bob is a registered professional geologist with twenty years of diversified environmental project management experience at both multi-party and single party sites. He brings demonstrated success in building and managing offices in the environmental service field. His experience includes environmental projects under Superfund, RCRA, DOE, and state regulatory frameworks. He has been involved in all project stages, from initial site assessment/risk evaluation, through remedial design/remedial action and re-development of the site. Bob’s project experience includes soil and groundwater remediation, sediment sites, and management of both RI/FS activities and remedial actions, including; landfill construction and capping; drum removals; waste stabilization; NORM; building and tank decon and demo; and extensive experience with in-situ remedial techniques. His use of Adaptive Site Management strategies has proven an effective technique to allow rapid and flexible work at sediment sites, and his oversight of design-build work has saved PRP groups significant time and money.

Bob has a B.S. in Geological Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo and is a member of the Association of Ground Water Scientists and Engineers. Bob has published a number of technical papers and has been an invited lecturer at technical sessions and presentations.
